Clonard Youth Club scoop overall award
CLONARD Youth Club were the big winners from this year's St Patrick's Day Parade in Wexford, which attracted thousands of spectators.
The Youth Club were deemed the best overall entry in last Wednesday's successful parade, while the parish's GAA Club were also among the honours.
The prize for Best Group/Uniform Body went to the overall winners, Clonard Youth Club, who received the George Furlong Perpetual Trophy and Cup for 2010.
In second place, and receiving a plaque for their efforts, were the colourful Sheila Grace Dance Group.
The winners of the Mayor's Cup and Miniature Cup, having been adjudged to have the Best Irish Theme this year, were Clonard GAA Club.
Winners of Best Float were Cappuccinos, who took home the perpetual trophy, while in second place were Christ Alive. Best Dressed in the parade were Kay Sutherland Dancing, while the funniest entry was deemed to be Danone Wexford. The Inbhear Mór Marchers from Arklow won Best Band.The judges also awarded prizes to a number of other entries: Tae Kwan Do; Able Disable; Barntown Gym Club; Wexford Panto; Crosbie's; Action Tae Kwan Do; Samba Band and Wexford Scouts.
