THE Taghmon community came together recently to support RehabCare Wexford Autism Service

Late last month, the magnificent sum of €550 was raised over coffee and chat when the community's Wednesday's Women's Group held a fundraising morning in Taghmon Community Centre in aid of the new autism service in RehabCare, Wexford.

The funds raised will go towards purchasing new resources for the multi-sensory room.

Theresa Byrne, who organised the event, and whose relative Christopher uses the service, praised both the staff at the centre and the service they provide.

'Since Christopher started in the service, he has improved so much,' she said.

The centre has been recently refurbished with a new canteen, programme rooms with state of the art technology, meeting rooms and a beautiful multi-sensory garden.

The Resource Centre and newly-developed Autism Service support 35 people with physical and intellectual disabilities.
