Wexford Mayor Cllr Ger Carthy raised concern about a thatch cottage in Rosslare, which he said is 'falling down around us'.

In light of the recent launch of the thatching exhibition at council offices, Mayor Carthy brought up the subject of the building near Rosslare port.

'It is the first one you see when you enter Ireland and it is falling down around us,' he said. 'I am award that it is not in our ownership.'

'To allow it to go on would be a damning indictment of the council.'

He requested that a report be compiled in relation to the condition of the cottage.
