Popular licensed premises Ye Old Cooper's Inn at Killinick has been sold for close to its asking price of €575,000.

'From our point of view it is a great test of the market to sell a thriving business like this,' said Colum Murphy, the managing director of Kehoe and Associates.

Mr Murphy declined to comment on who had bought the premises from Padraig Doyle, but the new owner is said by local sources to be well known local businessman Eugene Fortune.

The property comprises a non-residential licensed premises standing on a substantial site. This area includes an extensive tarmacadamed carpark to the front with parking for approximately 50 cars, some adjoining outbuildings and a small paddock on the southern side of the property.
