Councillors pay tribute to lives lost in tragedies

Councillors stood for a moment of silence was held for the late David Chan at the recent Wexford Borough District Council Meeting.

The tragedy in Carrickmines, which saw ten members of the travelling community lose their lives, was also brought up, with all present extending their sympathies to their families. Councillors also paid tribute to the late Tony Golden who was killed in the line of duty.

Two books of condolence have been opened in County Hall for the Carrickmines victims and Garda Golden, while two more are located at the Book Centre in South Main Street, Wexford town.
