A motorist who sat in his parked car without speaking to the garda traffic corps member who approached him at McCurtain Street in Gorey was fined for not having his front registration plate in order.
Garrett Bradshaw of Railway House, Colnaveagh, Gorey had been in the motor factors purchasing a replacement plate on November 25 in 2014.
The garda complained that the stand-off between him and the accused lasted for 20 minutes, during which time Bradshaw videoed him on his telephone.
The court heard that the motorist put the new plate up on the dashboard, which proved to the garda that he could hear what was being said to him.
Convictions were handed down for having an obscured number plate and for failure to produce his driving licence within the period allowed - with fines of €150.
