A WEXFORD church organist accused of the possession of child pornography has been remanded on continuing bail.
Eanna McKenna, aged 38, appeared before Judge Barry Hickson at Wexford Circuit Criminal Court on Tuesday last.
He is charged with having in his possession under Section 6(1) of the Child Trafficking and Pornography Act 1998, child pornography, 521 images and 167 movie files of child pornography located on computer media, at 37 College Green, Wexford.
McKenna is further charged under Section 6(1) of the Child Trafficking and Pornography Act 1998, that on dates unknown between November 26, 2010, and March 13, 2011, at 37 College Green, Wexford, he knowingly distributed child pornography for the purpose of distribution, exportation, sale or show.
Defence Counsel Michelle de Brun, in applying for an adjournment, said an application would be made in due course for a senior counsel. Disclosure application would also be made, she added.
Prosecuting Counsel, Sinead Gleeson said there was no objection to the application.
Accepting the application and setting the same bail conditions, Judge Hickson said he would adjourn the matter to the April sessions.
