Circuit court remands two on bail on drugs charges

TWO Wexford men who have pleaded guilty to a number of charges have been remanded to February for sentencing.
27-year-old Johnny Connors, of Rosemount, Drinagh, Wexford, and 26-year-old Paddy Connors, also of Rosemount, pleaded guilty at Wexford Circuit Criminal court to having controlled drug Diamorphine in their possession at Rosemount on September 11, 2014, for purpose of sale or supply to another.
Both defendants also pleaded guilty to a similar offence on November 4, 2014, at Rosemount, Drinagh; also on January 28, 2015, at Londis Car Park, The Faythe, Wexford, having Diamorphine in their possession for sale or supply to another; also to a similar offence at Keysers Lane, Wexford town, on February 6, 2015.
Johnny Connors also pleaded guilty to having Diamorphine in his possession for sale or supply to another at North Main St., Wexford, on February 27, 2015.
Patrick Connors also pleaded guilty making false statement relating to having information to gardai causing time of gardai to be wasted, on April 4, 2015, at Kilscoran, Tagoat, Wexford.
Defence Counsel, Ms Sara Phelan, S.C., asked that in the case of Johnny Connors that he be remanded on continuing bail for sentence. She also requested the preparation of a probation and welfare report along with a psychological report.
Philip Sheahan, S.C., for Patrick Connors, said he was making a similar application.
Judge Barry Hickson remanded both defendants on continuing bail to February 7 next for sentencing.
