Conditions of man's bail were misunderstood

A DEFENDANT who didn't think there were conditions to his bail, was remanded in custody at the Enniscorthy sitting of Gorey District Court last week, after the court was told that the address listed in the bail was no longer available to him.
Ross Bolger (19) of Hayesland, Kilrane, faces charges of assault causing harm at Commodore Barry Park, Rosslare, on July 31, 2014; burglary at Hotel Rosslare on August 28 last; and possession of a certain article at Hayesland, Kilrane, on October 10 last. He'd been in court the previous Thursday, and bail conditions were set when the case was held over to July.
However, he didn't believe there were conditions to the bail. The court recording system indicated there were.
Solicitor Ed King told the court that the address listed in the conditions was no longer available to him, and he couldn't offer another one at this stage. He asked for a short remand in custody. Judge Haughton remanded him in custody to appear in Cloverhill court on April 22.
