A twelve month disqualification imposed on a South Wexford motorist has been removed on appeal.
Simon W. Kennedy of Ard La Grein, Duncannon, appealed before Judge Barry Hickson a twelve month disqualification order imposed at Wexford District Court on July 7, 2015, arising out of a speeding offence at Camblin, New Ross, on September 23, 2014.
State Solicijtor, Kevin O'Doherty, told the court that the appellant was not present at that district court hearing.
Mr. Kennedy said he was undergoing medical treatment at the time so unfortunately he was unable to attend court. He had two medical reports to hand into court.
When asked by Judge Hickson how he now felt, Mr. Kennedy said he felt better as they had won the county championship on Sunday last, while the medical people had found a suitable drug for him.
Judge Hickson removed the disqualification. The fine was also reduced to €100.
