Former Christmas tree dealer James Hillis (46) with an address at Green Lakes, Forth Mountain formally pleaded guilty to ten counts of stealing money.

Amounts which went missing last in 2011 at the AIB branch in Rosslare ranged from €1,950 to €9,950.

In one case, Trevor Watson was at the loss of sums of €5,500 and €8,500 – a total of €14,000.

Hillis, now resident in Tenerife, was in Wexford after he was named on a European arrest warrant.

He signed guilty pleas and his barrister Dorothy Donovan hoped that the matter could be dealt with promptly at Wexford Circuit Court. Hillis’s father came to court to go bail for the accused.

Ms Donovan indicated that her client was now in a position to refund all of those who had lost money.
