Motorist (86) is guilty of causing head-on collision

An 86-year-old driver was held responsible for a head-on collision between his car and a Landini tractor in Ballymitty on September 8 last year
Brendan McCormack from Hilltown, Ballymitty, Wellingtonbridge, was traveling from Kilcavan towards Ballymitty when he strayed on to the wrong side of the road.
Representing the accused motorist at Wexford District Court, solicitor Rory Deane suggested that his client was blinded by the lights of the oncoming tractor.
A conviction for careless driving was recorded against McCormack who has been a licence holder for more than 60 years.
He was fined €200.
