Past golf club captain pleads guilty to fraud

A PAST Captain of Rosslare Golf Club who defrauded a client has pleaded guilty to four charges.
Nicholas O'Connor, of Troon Lodge, Ballycrane, Castlebridge, came before Judge Barry Hickson at Wexford Circuit Criminal Court last week on a plea of guilty.
The 58-year-old accountant was charged with lodging cheques to the value of €1,207, €4,800, €3,200, and €9,75 - all the property of James Parle - between December 3, 2012 and May 22, 2013, to his own account of Reddy O'Connor & Co., in favour of Nicholas O'Connor.
When the defendant was arraigned, he pleaded guilty on all four counts.
Defence Counsel Michelle de Brun asked for sentence in the matter to be adjourned to the next term.
Judge Hickson ordered the preparation of a Probation and Welfare report and adjourned sentencing to the October session.
