Sentence adjourned for man who attempted to rob bank

A 23-year-old man who pleaded guilty to the attempted robbery of a bank had his sentence adjourned when he came before Judge Cormac Quinn at Wexford Circuit Criminal Court.

Darragh Quinn, of Cross of Kisha, Rathmore, Broadway, Co. Wexford, pleaded guilty to two counts when arraigned before the court.

He pleaded guilty to the possession of a firearm on August 17, 2016, at Bank of Ireland, Rosslare Harbour, with intent to commit an offence. He also pleaded guilty to attempting to rob Branch Manager Laura O'Donnell.

Defence Counsel Colman Cody applied for an adjournment to Friday, July 21, for sentencing. He also applied for various reports to be made available for the sentencing hearing.

Prosecuting Counsel Frank Quirke also applied for a remand in custody.

Judge Quinn remanded the defendant in custody, with consent to bail, to July 21 next for sentencing.
