Tragic death of Thomas
Wexford Coroner's Court heard details of the tragic death of a Foulksmills man last year.
In the inquest into the death of 72-year-old Thomas Harpur, Horetown, Foulksmills, the court heard how his wife Eleanor had found his body after she had returned home from Wexford on August 24, 2015. Pathologist Dr Fergus McSweeney said that the port mortem determined that cause of death was cerebral hypoxia.
County Coroner Dr Sean Nixon recommended to the jury of six men that a verdict of suicide should be recorded in the case and the jury agreed.
Dr Nixon extended sympathy to the family of Mr Harpur on their said and tragic loss. Sympathies were also extended to the family by Inspector Pat Cody and the jury.
