Anthony Bierney (56) of 69 St Brendan's Estate in Rosslare Harbour attended Wexford District Court to plead guilty to a motor insurance summons.
The court learned how the accused motorist came to the attention of Garda Brendan Leamy by turning away from a checkpoint at Killinick last September.
Judge Gerard Haughton took summons for no NCT and no motor tax into consideration before setting a fine of €250 for the lack of insurance cover, with the mandatory two year disqualification. 'He panicked,' suggested solicitor Nigel Allen.
