Stephen Scallan (23) of Rathjarney in Piercestown was put off the road for two years after he admitted a drink drive offence.
He came to court just over a week after he was found by gardaí on May 2 at King Street in Wexford.
He was breathalysed at the roadside and a subsequent breath test confirmed that he was over the legal alcohol limit.
Judge Gerard Haughton was assured that Scallan, a full-time student, had no previous convictions.
A fine of €200 was added to the mandatory disqualification.
