A previous conviction for manslaughter was mentioned during a shoplifting case dealt with at Gorey District Court.
Johanna Kelly (43) from 50 Farran Park in Waterford admitted taking Garnier cream and Smirnoff vodka from Dunnes Stores in Wexford on April 7.
Both items - total value €26.50 - were concealed in her trousers but were promptly recovered unopened after she left the shop without paying.
Judge Gerard Haughton noted that the issue of the suspension of the sentence recorded for the manslaughter was due to be considered by the Central Criminal Court.
She was already in custody and Judge Gerard Haughton dealt with the Dunnes Stores offence by recording a seven day sentence, to run from May 28.
