David new president of St Peter's PPU
A new President was elected to the St Peter's College Past Pupils Union following their AGM last week.
Mr David Power, from the leaving cert class of 1966, was delighted to accept the role. David is a human resources consultant and a consultant on food safety and is a graduate of University College Cork and the National College of Ireland.
Outgoing president Jim Rossiter said: 'The PPU orgnaised many worthwhile events during the year. The careers night for the students was particularly worthwhile and successful. I'd also like to thank the committee members and everybody who contributed in any way to making the year such a success.'
New President, David Power, welcomed any new members and announced details of a Gathering to take place during the Opera Festival. 'A very proactive approach will be taken to encourage more past pupils to become members, whether you spent only weeks at St Peters or years, you will be welcomed with open arms into the membership. A gathering of past pupils will take place during the Opera Festival ,on Sunday October 27 at The Sky & The Ground, South Main St, Wexford, commencing at 8 p.m. All past pupils and partners are encouraged to attend and a warm welcome awaits you.'
Other committee members elected included Jim Rossiter as secretary, John O'Brien as treasurer, Ger Shortle as PRO, David Ryan, Nick Rossiter, John Murphy, Noel Browne and college principal Robert O'Callahan.
