Despite rumours of sale, Maggie May's still up for auction
maggie May's, of Monck Street, in Wexford, is still going to auction on May 17, despite some serious interest in it and at least one definite offer.
Auctioneer Dolores Power denied rumours circulating in the town that the premises, which she described as probably the best local to come on the market in Wexford for years, had been sold for €1.3m.
'I had heard that and rumours that it went for €1.4m, but we're going to auction,' she said.
'There have been enquiries from all over Ireland, the UK and Australia. We have had a very definite offer, but there is so much interest in it that we're going to auction,' she told this newspaper.
The premises, which is being sold as a going concern, is guiding at between €1.3m and €1.5 for the May 17 auction.
