Don't give homes to messy tenants
PEOPLE who leave their houses in a 'pigsty' condition should not be transferred to new homes by the Borough Council, a Wexford councillor has advised.
Fianna Fáil councillor Paddy Nolan said he had witnessed houses being left in an atrocious condition in cases where people were being transferred from smaller properties to three or four-bedroom homes. ' They should not be transferred until they clean up their mess. I firmly believe that if it is a Borough Council property, it should be inspected before the transfer takes place,' he said.
'It costs the council a fortune getting these houses cleaned up. They got them in good condition, they should be left in good condition. I don't want to see these people transferred.'
