Drama at sea as boat starts to sink
TWO PEOPLE were rescued from a submerged catamaran by Rosslare RNLI on Friday evening.
The volunteer lifeboat crew with Rosslare RNLI brought two people to safety after the catamaran they were on started taking on water one mile south of Carne on Friday evening. The call for help was received at 6.28 p.m. It is thought the vessel hit a submerged object and began taking on water. The Rosslare RNLI lifeboat launched and brought the vessel with the two men onboard back to land. Conditions were good at the time.
' This has been an extremely busy summer for the Rosslare lifeboat volunteers,' said Rosslare RNLI Deputy Launching Authority Dave Maloney.
