Driver banned for four years
A FOUR-YEAR driving ban has been imposed on a Taghmon motorist who drove twice while uninsured.
John Nugent from Coolraheen, Taghmon, was before last Tuesday's sitting of Wexford District Court facing two charges of driving without insurance and with using a vehicle without a NCT certificate on August 29, 2010 at Newtown, Baldwinstown, and on September 8, 2010 at the Newtown Road in Wexford. Solicitor Eric Furlong explained that the defendant had a vehicle insured but it was stolen and he was driving a rental vehicle for two weeks and thought he had transferred over the insurance. Judge Haughton imposed a €200 fine and a four-year driving ban for the second no insurance offence, handed down a €100 fine for the first no insurance charge and imposed €100 fines for each of the NCT offences.
