Drop-in Centre opens its doors
THE WESTLANDS Youth Drop-in Centre was officially opened last Thursday.
The centre was established by the youngsters of the area themselves so they would have a place to meet and hang out.
They established a youth committee following complaints about ' loitering' in the area and met with the Gardaí and Respond, the housing agency which owns the estate.
The new Youth Drop-in Centre was decorated to a high standard by the youngsters and now boasts a number of rooms for different purposes and there are also computers, with free broadband provided by Carnsore Broadband. The busy centre is open most evenings after a successful trial run last summer.
