Duncan shining light on sustainable communities

Award-winning architect and television producer/presenter Duncan Stewart will take a look at how community collaboration can generate and sustain rewarding livelihoods in Wexford when he visits the town library on Thursday, May 12.
He says that new start-ups, along with existing businesses not afraid to adapt, can come up with smart and environmentally-friendly solutions to areas such as food production, energy creation and eco-tourism.
Looking further down the road he reckons that those businesses prepared to future-proof their plans will be better placed to embrace the potential of a post-carbon world.
Duncan has long been a leading advocate for environmental, health and conservation issues. He has also been a long-time champion of architectural conservation and protection of our heritage.
Duncan's television programme 'Eco Eye', now in its 14th series, is driven by his interests in the protection of our environment and heritage, supporting local communities, and how climate issues are impacting on how we live our lives.
This free event, presented in association with Future-Proof Wexford, takes place at 7 p.m. and will shine a light on the opportunities available to those innovative entrepreneurs, individuals and community groups prepared to grasp them.
