Emergency bed and breakfast tenders sought
An invitation to tender for the provision of emergency bed and breakfast accommodation has been issued by Wexford County Council.
Speaking at last Monday's meeting of Wexford Borough Municipal District Cllr Deirdre Wadding asked what was the council doing with regards to the provision of emergency accommodation saying that people were sleeping rough in tents around the town.
'We urgently need emergency accommodation', she said
Housing officer Niall McCabe told Cllr Wadding that the council has issued an invitation to tender which appeared in local newspaper last Tuesday.
The tender read: 'Wexford County Council is seeking tenders for the provision of Emergency Bed and Breakfast Accommodation for homeless clients in County Wexford. Interested parties should have a minimum of three years experience providing Bed and Breakfast accommodation on either a commercial or charitable basis.'
