Enterprising students in final
STUDENTS from two Wexford boys' schools will represent their county at the national final of the 10th annual Student Enterprise Awards in Croke Park today (Wednesday), April 18.
Two Wexford projects have reached the final – 'Tree-mendous Xmas Decorations' from CBS secondary school in the junior category and 'Sweet Enterprise Company' from St. Peter's College in the senior section. 'Sweet Enterprise' is a healthy eating workshop initiative for primary school children.
The two Wexford groups will be among 300 finalists from all over the country gathering in GAA headquarters to set up exhibition displays and take part in judging interviews.
Adjudicators mark the budding entrepreneurs on innovation, market research, finances and planning.
The competition which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, is co-ordinated locally by County Wexford Enterprise Board.
Breege Cosgrave, acting assistant CEO of the Board congratulated the Wexford finalists and wished them well. ' They have successfully researched, set up and managed a business over the last year, learning important business and enterprise skills along the way,' she said.
