'Fake' bomb thrown at Enniscorthy house
A 'fake' pipe bomb was thrown through the window of a house in Enniscorthy's Friary Place early on Monday morning in the second such violent incident of its kind in the town in the past three weeks.
Gardai sealed off the area and residents were evacuated from their homes.
The motive for the attack is so far unclear.
There were no injuries and an army bomb disposal unit which arrived in the town at 12.50 p.m., declared the area safe at 2.05 p.m. The device was not found to be viable.
The incident follows another attack in Friary Place, which leads off Abbey Square, earlier in the month when at least one shot was fired at the front door of a house.
