Ferrycarrig staff embark on weight loss challenge
HEAD CHEF, TONY CARTY will have to use all his will power not to sample his delicious dishes at the Ferrycarrig Hotel as he joins a staff weight-loss challenge in the Ferrycarrig Active Club.
Tony is just one of a number of Ferrycarrig Hotel staff who have signed up for the three-month pound-shedding exercise, in which the seven participants hope to lose a combined 10 stone before Christmas. Tony's good friend and sidekick, Cllr. George Lawlor, is also joining him in the charity effort, and all of the cash raised will go to St. Gabrielle's Childrens Ward in Wexford General Hospital.
The other participants include Jeanette and Michael O'Keeffe, Susie Rowe, Nicky Roche and Chris Culleton.
The participants will each have their own mentors to guide them through the process, which will include dieting and exercie.
The final weigh-in will take place on December 20th following a 10k Raven Run which will see participants and mentors compete against each other.
Both participants and mentors will have sponsor cards throughout the challenge and all money raised will go to the childrens ward.
