Ballymurn's Christopher Kehoe is a master of his craft and has just won an All-Ireland award for his welding skills.

The competition first took place at Dublin Institute of Technology where Christopher, who works for Future Stainless Enniscorthy, competed against five other competitors.

'Luckily I got picked as one of Ireland's' top six welders. Once again, when the competition restarted six of us went head to head on all types of welding,' said Christopher.

The national competitions were conducted in two stages. The preliminary stage was conducted in a number of nominated centres around the country.

Competitors who reach the required qualifying standard in the preliminary competition are invited to participate in the national final, which runs for three days, before the winner is announced in Croke Park.
