Fishguard boost for tourism
WEXFORD TOURISM is set for a boost as Ferry Company Stena Line looks set to reinforce its Rosslare to Fishguard route with a massive investment expected for Fishguard Port.
Plans are due to go before Pembrokeshire County Council this month for a massive development of Fishguard Harbour, which will include a 450 berth marina, workshops, stores, 253 residential apartments and a 19 acre platform for potential expansion by Stena Line.
Deputy Prime Minister of the UK, Nick Clegg was present in Fishguard last week to view the current facilities and see the plans for development.
The project is a joint venture on the part of Stena Line and Conygar Ltd. and is expected to provide a massive boost for Fishguard, and thus as a knock- on effect benefit tourism in Wexford via Rosslare Europort.
