Fix crumbling wall 'before a child is killed'
Wexford councillors fear that more sections of a wall between Cromwellsfort estate and Rock's Lane could collapse and cause injury to passers-by.
Cllr Joe Ryan who lives in Cromwellsfort asked the Borough Engineer Sinead Casey to report on the condition of the wall and identify areas of instability.
A large section crumbled a few weeks ago after an overnight fall of rain.
'I ask the Borough Engineer to look at it and contact the relevant property owners to ensure that any necessary work is done sooner rather than later,' he said.
Cllr Paddy Nolan said it was fortunate that no one was injured. Pleading with officials, he said: 'For the love and honour of God, please contact whoever is reponsible before that wall falls again and a child is killed.'
Cllr Nolan said parts of the wall near The Folly are in a 'desperate state'.
