ALL INVITED TO ENTER COMPETITION SEEKING IDEAS FOR FLOAT FOR THIS YEAR'S EVENT
Wednesday February 03 2010
WEXFORD people have been urged to get their green thinking caps on and come up with a great idea for a float for this year's St Patrick's Day Parade.
In a bid to encourage community involvement and progression within the Wexford town parade, the St Patrick's Day Committee has invited entries and suggestions from the public on what they would like to see in this year's Parade.
The suggestion deemed the best will then be incorporated into the parade and the winner will also get two VIP seats on the official viewing stand and a designer pair of specs, courtesy of Specsavers, one of the parade's official sponsors.
Mags Cregan-Smart is a committee member and store director of the Specsavers store on South Main Street. 'It's vital that our annual parade is reflective of the Wexford community's wishes and continues to develop year-afteryear,' she said. 'There's an abundance of creativity in the South East so I would invite all of the community, young and old alike, to take a couple of minutes and write down their thoughts for the 2010 parade,' said Ms Cregan-Smart.
Entries should be no more than an A4 page and can be posted in-store at Specsavers, 25 South Main Street, Wexford. The closing date is 5 February 2010.
