WEXFORD jeweller Frank Hynes suffered a broken bone in his foot when a car went over it on a pedestrian crossing on Wexford Quays.

Frank said he was crossing the road opposite the Spiegeltent when 'a car hit me. I jumped back just in time, but his wing mirror caught my hip and a wheel went over my foot.' 'He (the driver) stopped and he came back to apologise. He was from out of town and I don't think he realised there was a pedestrian crossing there. Thankfully I jumped back. His mirror came off the worst. It was an accident and these things happen,' said Frank.
