Free information night invites people to get involved in Wexford's first Relay for Life

By Amy Lewis

The Irish Cancer society is calling on Wexford to make a difference in 2016 by taking part in the county's first Relay for Life.

Relay for Life is a 24-hour event that brings the whole community together to celebrate the lives of cancer survivors and remember those who have been lost. At Relay, teams of family members and friends will commit to having at least one member of their team walking around the track at all times. At the same time, a festival of fun, entertainment and community will take place nearby.

Although the event is not due to take place until summer, plans are already underway to make this fundraiser a success. Anyone interested in taking part or helping out can attend the information night in the Talbot Hotel on Wednesday January 20. The evening kicks off at 8 p.m.
