MOURNERS at a funeral had to push a hearse into St. Ibar's Cemetery in Crosstown because icy underfoot conditions last week.
'There was no getting into the cemetery because of the ice. The hearse was sliding out onto the road.' said undertaker Paddy Mulligan this week.
He confirmed that mourners at the funeral rallied to help, and pushed the hearse into the graveyard where it continued on its journery.
Wexford Borough Council were immediately alerted to the problem at St. Ibar's and went to grit the road immediately as another funeral was due at the cemetery within hours.
