Galbally girl loved to travel

MANY people in Galbally were saddened by news of the recent death of Anne-Marie Morrissey in England.

The 28-year-old died in tragic circumstances in Birmingham on August 20 last.

A native of Galbally, Anne-Marie was a daughter of Margaret and the late William Morrissey, who passed away in March 2006.

She attended primary school in Taghmon and Galbally before going on to attend Adamstown Vocational College.

Anne-Marie was a quiet person who kept largely to herself, but enjoyed the company of her family and close friends.

She was a bright girl and loved to travel, never spending too long in the one spot.

However, she was a regular visitor home when living and working elsewhere.

Anne-Marie attended college in various third level institutions and worked in Cork and Dublin, while she also taught English in Korea for some time. Recently she had moved to England.

Her tragic death in Birmingham came as a huge shock to her loving family and she was brought home for her Requiem Mass in Galbally on Friday, September 10. She was laid to rest with her father in Galbally Cemetery.

Anne-Marie is survived by her mother Margaret, her brother Thomas and his partner Indre, her brother William, her sister Margaret and her husband Brian, her sister Rosie and her partner Keith, her nieces Kelly and Panthea, her nephews Benny, Damien and Jamie, her extended family and friends.

May she rest in peace.
