A prominent business owner in South Wexford has expressed concern about the affect road works to facilitate the laying of the gas pipleine across the south of the county will have on business.
Caroline Foxe of Foulksmills Post Office expressed concern that the works will affect business and cause massive delays for people in the area.
Gas Networks Ireland crews began preparatory work outside Foulksmills last week, having issued notifications that the works were about to begin. Road closures and diversions will be in place across the south of the county over the coming months as the €16.5m gas pipeline, built by Gas Networks Ireland, is laid.
These works, totalling 43km of gas networks extension, will take approximately seven months to complete. There will be a road closure from Ballybrazil via Ballykeerogemore to Dunmain crossroads from September 22 to October 28 and diversions will be in place.
