A family entertainment centre, complete with a bowling alley, is to be created at the showpiece Stonebridge development on the Quays.

The county council has granted permission for the development to Oyster Lane Ltd., with a registered address at St Aidan's Shopping Centre, whose directors are listed as businessmen and hoteliers Des and Cormac Pettitt and Philip Gavin.

The planning permission is for a change of use on the vacant number 3 unit at Stonebrodge from retail to a family entertainment centre, which will include a bowling alley, a children's play area and a restaurant.

One of the conditions of the grant of permission is that the centre will open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Mondays to Saturdays and from 12.30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays and bank holidays.

Completed in 2008, the Stonebridge development on Paul Quay was built as a luxury 73-apartment complex, but remained empty until last year when it was bought by the Talbot Hotel Collection which invested 2.5 million in developing much of it as an aparthotel complex - the Talbot suites at Stonebridge.
