Gridlock on the Rosslare Road

motorists faced long delays getting in and our of Wexford last week as a result of yet more road works at Drinagh.
However, the county council said the works will be short-lived and things should be back to normal later this week.
Head of Roads Noel O'Driscoll said a section of the gas main pipe laying in the area had been fast-tracked by Gas Networks Ireland which meant that works carried out in the area at the time were only a temporary re-instatement.
'We did the active town travel scheme from the roundabout into Glanbia and that is almost completed, but on the left hand side, that part was not completed because of the gas main. What is happening now is that we are planing the top 50ml of the road from the edge of the white line that was there before to the edge of the footpath,' said Mr O'Driscoll.
He said the works, including marking out the remaining cycle lane and bus junctions, should be completed this week.
