Guilty on cannabis charge
A MAN FOUND in the possession of drugs has been ordered to pay €250 euro to Aiseiri.
Before the court was Brendan Denton, of 13 Canon Murphy Park, Clonroche, who pleaded guilty to being in the possession of cannabis on January 27, 2011, at Cloonerane, Taghmon.
Inspector Pat Delaney told Wexford District Court on Monday that in the course of a searchm, Garda Burke found the cannabis in his car. The defendant, he said, had previous convictions.
Defence Solicitor Timmy Cummings said the defendant had managed to remain drugs free and trouble free since that date. The defendant, he said, is prepared to make a donation to Aiseiri. He is on €168 benefit and if given time could make a payment of €250.
Judge Clyne said he would adjourn the case to May 1 to allow for the payment of the €250 to Aiseiri. If this sum is paid the Judge said he would apply the Probation Act.
