Hook Lighthouse cert of excellence
A COVETED Certificate of Excellence from Trip Advisor is now proudly hanging in the hallway of Hook Lighthouse after the popular attraction was presented with this prestigious award following visitors' positive experiences during 2012.
The Lighthouse is ranked at number three of all 57 attractions in County Wexford, behind the Dunbrody Famine Ship in first place and Curracloe Beach in second place.
'So far this year all the comments on Trip Advisor have been exceptionally good,' said Ann Waters, Manager of Hook Lighthouse. ' We know we have great staff, that our tours are brilliant, that the food in the cafe is really good and all round people coming generally have a really good experience so it is great to have that acknowledged,' she added.
'We are thrilled to bits with this award and very proud of everyone who works here for making it happen. It's a big achievement,' added Ann, who praised her staff for all their hard work which has resulted in this award.
Hook Lighthouse, which is the oldest operational lighthouse in the world, was previously rated as the 'Number One Lighthouse in the World' by Lonely Planet and as the 'Great Granddaddy of Lighthouses'.
