Wexford councillor Davy Hynes is urging the Wexford borough district to upgrade the playground in Redmond Park to include toddlers' swings, facilities for teenagers and the elderly and, if possible, to reinstate the pond.

In a motion due to be put to Monday's (July 20) council meeting, Cllr Hynes said the park upgrade should take place in the run up to the death in the Great War of one of Wexford's most famous sons, Major Willie Redmond. Cllr. Hynes says that reinstating the pond as well as new entrance and parking will increase park usage.
