INM chairman visits People Newspapers HQ
THE chairman of Independent News and Media plc paid a visit to Channing House, the headquarters of People Newspapers, last week.
Leslie Buckley had high praise for the local staff who have steered the Wexford-based group through challenging times and maintained their position as one of the most successful regional newspapers operations in the country.
He met with editorial, advertising and front-of-house staff at Channing House in Rowe Street, the focal point of the group which publishes the Wexford People, New Ross Standard, Gorey and Enniscorthy Guardians, Wicklow People, Bray People and County Wexford Reporter.
Mr Buckley also met with the editors of Ireland's Own, the magazine produced at People Newspapers for over 100 years and described as a phenomenon in the Irish publishing market.
Mr Buckley was joined in Wexford by Gerry Lennon, INM executive.
To mark Mr Buckley's visit to Wexford, Michael Ryan, managing director, INM Regionals - East, presented the INM chairman with a framed print of the first front pages of the Wexford People in 1853, and Ireland's Own, in 1902.
