It's Good 2 Talk hits out at HSE

Wexford counselling service Its Good 2 Talk has still not received funding six months after former Minister of State Kathleen Lynch promised annual HSE support to the tune of €130,000.
Chairperson Cllr David Hynes, pictured right, said the HSE has now placed an obstacle in front of the service, requiring it to establish a separate 'legal entity' for the purpose of funding, incorporating only those counsellors accredited to the Irish Association of Psychotherapists and Counsellors. This would reduce the funding promised.
'We as a the board of IG2T find this totally unacceptable and in our reply, have told the HSE that we feel it would compromise our ethos,' said Cllr Hynes. 'Unfortunately, we are now no better off than at the start of these discussions.'
Its Good 2 Talk has 30 accredited, pre-accredited and trainee counsellors on its books and has provided low-cost counselling in Wexford since 2011, concentrating on the treatment of low to moderate mental health issues. It provides individual therapy, bereavement support and addiction and couples therapy.
It was told by then health minister James Reilly four years ago that it would be getting funding.
