WEXFORD has gained up to 40 jobs with the opening of two new stores in the town area.

Discount retailer Dealz has just opened its second store here and UK outdoor retailer Mountain Warehouse recently opened the doors to its first store in the town, on South Main Street.

The opening of the new Dealz store at Unit 5, Wexford Retail Park, Clonard Little, follows that of the retailer's first store in the town in South Main Street earlier this year.

Dealz says the latest opening brings to more than 900 the number of jobs it has created so far in Ireland.

Regional Manager Leonard Brassel said: 'We are delighted to be further expanding the Dealz portfolio in Ireland with our 45th store opening in Wexford. At Dealz we are committed to bringing amazing value every day to customers with our €1.49 price point and are looking forward to bringing an extensive range of products offering amazing value to new customers in Wexford.'

Dealz says is committed to further expanding across the country to create local jobs and bringing great value offerings to the Irish consumer.

Mountain Warehouse Area said the opening of the Wexford store marks the start of its expansion across Ireland.

The company is the largest outdoor retailer in the UK with over 180 stores nationwide.

Regional Manager Briege Redhead said: 'We're very excited to be opening our first store in Ireland for nearly four years.
