On thursday afternoon at the John Barry Statue, Rear Admiral Christopher J Paul and Rear Admiral Russell Penniman from the U.S. Navy layed a wreath at the statue.

Lighting up the John Barry statue would be a difficult feat for Wexford County Council because of the lack of cabling.

Cllr George Lawlor wondered if the iconic statue could be lit. However he was told that there is no cabling going onto the John Barry statue which made lighting it up difficult.
