Julie Hogan confirmed as FG candidate
AFTER several weeks of speculation, Wexford woman Julie Hogan has been selected by Fine Gael to run as the party's third candidate in the general election.
Ms Hogan is one of five female candidates declared for the election. She joins Michael D'Arcy Jnr and Paul Kehoe on the party ticket.
From Saltmills, Ms Hogan has been living in Wexford for many years where she is also very well-known.
She said: 'I am honoured to have been formally declared to campaign for election with Fine Gael. Our recovery through job creation is the main aim. Also helping Wexford achieve its full potential, along with a focus on youth services, issues affecting our elderly and childcare provision for those wishing to return to work.'
Ms Hogan said she will be helping to implement the party's five point plan in relation to employment, budget, health, public sector and new politcs. 'If elected, I hope to address issues in relation to provision of youth services, our elderly and especially issues affecting our over 65s in rural areas and also want to address issues in relation to affordable childcare. So yes, we've a lot to do, but I've never been afraid of hard work and meeting a challenge. I want to get out there now and meet as many people as possible and ask "what do you want from me as your representative?" We're facing a vigorous and energetic campaign.'
Ms Hogan, 44, who works as a team leader at Eishtec, Wexford, thanked everyone for their overwhelming support.
