CLLR Paddy Kavanagh was full of bull praise at the meeting after his prize bull won in the Reserve Champion category at the Bannow Rathangan Show.

In praising the organisers of the show on another successful event, Cllr Ger Carthy acknowledged the success of Cllr Kavanagh in winning the 'supreme bull'.

'It was a fine species, like himself,' Cllr Carthy said, to much laughter.

During a debate on childcare costs in Scandinavia compared to Ireland later that afternoon, Cllr Malcolm Byrne said farmers with big, prize winning bulls like Cllr Kavanagh would have to pay more.

'Naturally you'd have lots of children,' Cllr Kavanagh replied with a smile.
