Cllr Fergie Kehoe wants to see a beach in Ferrybank.

Speaking during a presentation about Wexford's coastal areas Cllr Kehoe wondered if it would be possible to create a small beach at Ferrybank.

'There are great facilities in Ferrybank in terms of parking and camping accommodation and I wonder if there is any possibility of providing a small beach there.' He spoke nostalgically about how people used to swim in the areas around the Dairy Fields.

However senior engineer Gerry Forde he been told it wasn't possible because of the poorer bathing water quality and to prevent people from trying to across the river.
